What to See & Do
El Faro de Punta Higuero (Rincon Lighthouse)
The original El Faro de Punta Higuero built in 1892 was destroyed during the 1918 earthquake and was rebuilt in 1922 and stands today as a major landmark in Rincon. The lighthouse and park offers amazing views of Desecheo Island as well as Domes Beach and Indicators Beach. During whale season it is also a good spot (if you are lucky) to catch a glimpse of Humpback whales migrating past the island

Beaches
Rincon has a plethora of beaches for all tastes; relaxing, family friendly, beginning surfing and experienced surfers.
Maria’s Beach
Maria’s is another beach that is popular with the surfing crowd and is a great spot to catch the sunsets with views of Desecheo Island. Maria’s is one of the main beaches in Rincon that is used for the Pro Surfing Circuit on the island.

Sandy
A very popular beach especially with families due to its location to bars and restaurants and places to stay. The beach is wide and is typically a good spot for swimming.

Domes
Located at the end of Road 4413, the beach gets its name from the nearby dome of the old nuclear power station. A great spot to surf or just enjoy watching the surfers

Tres Palmas Marine Reserve
The Tres Palmas Marine Reserve includes Steps Beach, Dogman’s and Little Malibu and is a great spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Steps beachis the most well known in the reserve and the steps on the sand make for an interesting instagram photo.
