If you have been to Puerto Rico before, you will know what I mean, if you have not then the next section will be useful:
Just like in America we drive on the right, unlike America there are NO RULES, or at least it seems that way to me. Whether you arrive By air or sea, or whether you use a taxi or drive yourself, be prepared for driving Puerto Rican style. People here drive extremely close to each other, use the horn at every given chance (especially at lights, I think they believe that the traffic moves forward, not because the road has eventually cleared from people going on red, but beacuse THEY blew THEIR horn). Overtake and change lanes on all sides, usually without indicating (cars here do have working indicators, but for some reason people don’t use them).Â
Just remember to use all of your mirrors all of the time and have your passenger check for cars when you want to turn or change lanes
