This years Festival Casals will run from March 3th to March 16, the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce, San Juan, with over 30 artists and groups from Puerto Rico, Spain, Germany, France, Israel and other countries participating.

As in previous years, the musical program has been designed by Maestro Maximiano Valdés, principal conductor of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Festival Casals .
Sunday March 4th, 4pm Sala Sinfónica
The opening of the festival will take place on Sunday March 3 at 4pm in the Sala Sinfónica of the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré with the Baroque group Le Concert des Nations and conducted by Jordi Savall.
Monday March 5th, 8pm Sala Sinfónica
The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, a highly acclaimed Chamber Orchestra will perform directed by Christian Zacharias, who will also be the soloist at the piano for the evening.
Thursday March 7th, 8pm Sala Sinfónica
The Diaz Trio will perform the music of Beethoven
Saturday March 9th, 8pm Sala de Festivales
Saturday evening at the Festival Casals will feature 2 programs in one.
The first act will be a presentation of Manuel de Falla’s “La Vida Breve” by the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra with the Lyric Choir of Puerto Rico, along with soprano María Leatitia, the tenor Daniel Mojica and the mezzo-soprano Odemaris Ortiz. There will also be special appearance by the bailaora Jeanne d’Arc Casas and the singer Edgardo Montserrat.
The second act will be a presentation of “Hij@s de la Bernarda” directed by Rosa Luisa Márquez. It will feature Jeanne d’Arc Casas and dancers from the Andanza Dance Company
Sunday March 10th, 4pm 8pm Sala Sinfónica
Rémi Geniet a young and talented French pianist will perform the music of various composers.
Thursday March 14th 5pm Sala Sinfónica
The music of Brahms will be performed by Amit Peled an an Israeli-American cellist and Noreen Polera an American pianist.
Saturday March 16th, 8pm Sala Sinfónica
The closing event of the 2019 Festival Casals will feature Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra performing Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 and directed by Maximiano Valdés. The Philharmonic Choir of San Juan, directed by Carmen Acevedo, the Youth Choir of Puerto Rico, directed by Jo-Anne Herrero and the mezzo-soprano soloist Gabrielle Timofeeva, will alos be performing
