Gastro Extravaganza, Fighter Planes and Movies Galore: Puerto Rico, April 2011

puerto rico april 2011Two days of mouth watering food, an Air show and a weeklong film festival are the highlights for April, here in Puerto Rico.

April 2-3 Saborea Puerto Rico 2011

This annual event takes place at Escambron Beach, San Juan and highlights the best Puerto Rican restaurants, local and international chefs as well as well known television personalities.

This year, Saborea Puerto Rico will feature more than 60 restaurants from all over Puerto Rico and around 40 local and international chefs / personalities.

The Saborea Village will include the Tasting Pavilion, where you can help yourself to tasty samples from all the participating restaurants, the Demo Kitchen as well as an Outside Kitchen.

The Kids Pavillion will include demonstrations and activities for thjose aspiring young chefs.

As well as a host of local chefs, the Food Network will be well represented with several of their most popular stars:
Ted Allen: Host of ‘Chopped’ and a regular judge on Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’
Anne Burrell: Host of ‘Secrets of a Restaurant Chef’ and currently one of the mentors on ‘Worst Cooks in America’
Robert Trevino: Owner of Budatai here in Puerto Ric o
Robert Irvine: Host of ‘Dinner Impossible’, a mentor on ‘Worst Cooks in America’ and host of the new show ‘Restaurant Impossible’
If you would like to check out Saborea Puerto Rico, Day Pass tickets cost $90 and $30 for the Kids Pavilion. The day pass gives you access to the cooking demonstrations and food tastings.

April 2-3, Heineken Puerto Rico Air Show

Aeropuerto José Aponte de la Torre (Naval Base Roosevelt Roads), once again plays host to the Puerto Rico Air show. This years event is sponsored by Heinken and the two day event will feature:

US Airforce Thunderbirds
F-16 Aerobatic Team
F-15 Strike Eagles
C-130 from the Air National Guard
US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team
And much more…

Tickets cost around $20 for adults and $12 for children

April 12 – 16, Rincon International Film Festival

This annual film festival takes place in and around the west coast town of Rincon. The aim of the Rincon International Film Festival is to present The Best of Independent Film including Surfing Films, Horror Films, Comedy Films, Romantic Comedies, Dramas, Documentaries, Animations, Music Videos, Spanish Language Films, International Films, wonderful short films, and more

There will be day time and evening screenings at various locations around Rincon as well as dinners and after parties.
