Looks like March is going to be a busy month here in Puerto Rico, with the potential for whale spotting, pro golfer spotting, sangria tasting, chilling to the cool sounds of jazz and much more
Mar 1-31, Whale Festival, Rincon
Typically the best time to spot whales off the coast of Puerto Rico (usually the west coast) is January to March. To mark the end of the season Rincon holds its annual Festival de la Bellena (whale festival) takes place throughout March at the Rincon Lighthouse. The festival features, music, food and local artisans and hopefully some whale spotting (though not guaranteed).
Mar 4-10, 2013 Puerto Rico Golf Open, Rio Grande
Once again the Trump International Golf Club in Rio Grande plays host to the 2013 Puerto Rico PGA Open. The weeklong event features charity events, golf exhibitions, Pro Am Tournament and the main event the PGA Open. This year some familiar names include: John Daly, Justin Leonard, Kevin Stadler and Paul Casey.

Mar 16, Sangria Festival, San Juan
Last year’s Sangria Festival in Puerto Rico was officially designated as the Biggest Sangria Festival in the World by the Guinness Book of Records. Will this year’s be bigger? I’m sure the organizers are hoping it will. If you would like to be part of this festival check out the details here and head to the San Juan Convention Center on March 16.
