What do Barack Obama, Jazz and daredevil Nik Wallenda, have in common?
You can catch them all here in Puerto Rico during the month of June.
June 14, President Barack Obama will be making the FIRST Official visit by a sitting President, since J F Kennedy’s visit to the island in 1961. Looks like President Obama is making good on his pre-election campaign promise of returning to Puerto Rico if he became President.
June 2-5, The annual Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Festival takes place at the Tito Puente Amphitheater in San Juan. Hopefully the recent rains will hold off so folks can enjoy this renowned event. The 2001 Jazz Festival will feature performances by Richie Flores, Monty Alexander, the Stanley Clarke Band, the Ted Nash Quintet and more.
June 4, Nik Wallenda ‘King of the High Wire’ is set to recreate the deadly high wire stunt that claimed the life of his Great Grandfather Karl Wallenda in 1978, when he attempts to cross the 300ft span between the towers of the Conrad Plaza Hotel in the Condado area of San Juan. Back in 1978 his Great Grandfather attempted the same stunt, that ended in tragedy as he fell to his death.
Nik, will be on the high wire around 11am on Saturday June 4
