Puerto Rico COVID-19 Reopening Phase 3

Based on the latest Executive Order the COVID-19 Reopening Phase 3 begins on June 16, 2020

After several months of strict lock down rules the Governor of Puerto Rico is lifting the majority of restrictions with limitations in place based on the type of business / activity.

Beginning June 16 (in addition to those business already operating from Phase 2). This order will last until June 20, 2020

  • Curfew runs from 10pm to 5am
  • Face masks are required in all public spaces along with social distancing
  • Travellers arriving at the main San Juan airport will see expanded screening measures. Screening measures will also be introduced at the airports in Ponce and aguadilla
  • Restaurants open until 10pm with indoor dining allowed up to 50% capacity (up from 25%). In door dining must be by reservation. 
  • Outdoor spaces may open with social distancing in place., 
  • Individual sports and recreational training will be allowed until 10pm. Limited use of beaches, reserves, golf courses, parks, courts and gyms will be allowed with social distancing in place. Larger gatherings will not be allowed.
  • Beaches will be open and the use of beach chairs and coolers are allowed with social distancing in place.
  • Spas will be open, but grouping of people is not allowed without precautionary measures and social distancing..
  • Gyms are allowed to open in compliance with CDC guidelines but must not exceed 50% occupancy, 
  • Shopping centers can open with a limit of one person per 75 square feet.
  • Cinemas and Drive In Movie Theaters can reopen, 
  • Museums can open with online reservations and a maximum occupancy of 50%.
  • Farmers markets can operate with measures and social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Day Care Centers can open on July 1 following CDC guidelines.
  • Adventure attractions can open with a maximum occupancy of 50%.
  • Open spaces or public and private parking lots can offer drive-in type events, film screenings, graduations, concerts etc.
  • Beginning July 15, the gradual opening of venues for events and concerts will be authorized.
  • Churches, temples, mosques and synagogues can conduct in-person services within the hours allowed in the curfew from Monday to Sunday.
  • Laundromats, or cleaners can open to the general public with precautionary measures and social distancing and a limit of 50% occupancy.;
