What To See And Do
El Globo
El Globo is Jayuya’s newest attraction; an aerostatic balloon that takes visitors to 2,800 feet above sea level for unprecedented views of Jayuya and the island. On clear days you will be able to see both the north and south coasts of Puerto Rico from El Globo.

La Piedra Escrita
La Piedra Escrita translated means ‘The Written Stone’ is an impressively large rock that is carved with 50 or more Taino petroglyphs. The drawings date back to 600 to 1200 AD. A wooden boardwalk leads you down to the river where La Piedra Escrita sits in the center of the river. The rock is covered with petroglyphs of different shapes, some abstract some resembling animals and it is a peek into the history of Puerto Rico.

El Cemi Museum
The nearby El Cemi Museum is another peek into the past. The unusual shaped building showcases Taino artefacts that were discovered in the Jayuya area, The museum is also a visitor center for the area.
El Cemi Museum is open 7 days a week from 10am to 3:30pm with a cost of $2 for adults and $1 for children. The cost also includes entrance to Casa Canales

Casa Canales
Located in the same area as the Cemi Museum and included in the ticket price, Casa Canales was the home to the Canales Family who played a pivotal role in the short lived Freedom Uprising by Puerto Rican Nationalists back in 1950. Today the house is decorated exactly as it was back in 1950.

Museo de Nuestros Mártires
The Museo de Nuestros Mártire (the Museum of Our Martyrs) highlights the fight for Puerto Rican independence and the people who lost their lives fighting for their beliefs. This small museum located in a private home is filled with paintings, photographs, books detauiling the events of the time.

Hacienda San Pedro
Hacienda San Pedro is a fourth generation coffee plantation that offers tours on weekends. They also have a small museum dedicated to the history of coffee making and their very own coffee shop.
