What will the weather be like in August? is a common question that I see on the various forums out there, so I thought I would take this opportunity to detail the average weather here in Puerto Rico for the rest of the year.
The following information was taken from the NOAA website for San Juan Airport. These are typical temperatures and rainfall (but are not a guarantee of what will actual occur this year). Remember, the typical forecast for the summer in Puerto Rico is hot with the chance of a shower. You will see this forecast most days and yes, sometimes it will rain, but it will be over fairly quickly and will dry out almost immediately. So do not despair if you are checking the 7 day forecast and you see showers; chances are that it will not be that drastic, and you will have a great time here in Puerto Rico.
July: Max 87.4, Min 76.4, rain 8.92 inches
August: Max 87.8, Min 77, rain 5.22 inches
September: Max 87.8, Min 76.5, rain 5.60 inches
October: Max 87.5, Min 75.6, rain 5.06 inches
November: Max 85.1, Min 74.0, rain 6.17 inches
December: Max 83.2, Min 72.1, rain 4.57 inches
The above are typical values, but as I said it may be different this year. For example last year (2006) the actual temperature and rainfall were:
July 2006: Max 88.0, Min 77.3, rain 4.26 inches
August 2006: Max 87.8, Min 77.3, rain 4.26 inches
September 2006: Max 89.9, Min 77.6, rain 1.78 inches
October 2006: Max 89.3, Min 77.0, rain 11.25 inches
November 2006: Max 87.2, Min 75.1, rain 5.71 inches
December 2006: Max 84.2, Min 73.2, rain 4.50 inches
So as you can see; September had much less rain, whereas October’s rainfall was twice the norm.
Have a great time when you are here…
